Embark on a Journey to the Pinnacle of the World

Following your morning flight to Longyearbyen, you'll have the opportunity to explore the planet's northernmost town, a vibrant frontier settlement where snowmobiles often outnumber the residents.

Longyearbyen is ideally suited for leisurely exploration on foot. Wander along its main street, and you might even encounter Svalbard reindeer ambling by. Despite their wild nature, these reindeer are known for their curiosity and gentle disposition.

Following lunch, before you board your ship in the afternoon to continue your Arctic odyssey, take part in a complimentary excursion. It offers a tantalizing glimpse into this remarkable region at the very top of the world, where polar bears reign supreme.

Immerse in Pristine Arctic Wilderness

Over the upcoming three days, you will embark on an exploration of the untouched natural landscapes and rugged tundra within Northwest Spitsbergen National Park. Enveloped by towering mountains, dramatic glaciers, and picturesque offshore islands, we will keep a keen watch for Arctic wildlife, including whales, seals, walruses, and reindeer. With a stroke of luck, we may even have the privilege of spotting the elusive polar bear as it hunts on the icy terrain. In the breathtaking Kongsfjord, you may witness glaciers dramatically calving into the sea.

Be prepared for thrilling adventures: we will eagerly seize any opportunity to launch our kayaks or embark on our small boats (RIB) for onshore excursions, whether it's for hiking or participating in a beach cleanup.

Exploring for Polar Bears, Seabirds, and Walruses

Prepare for an expedition of boundless possibilities as you venture into the next stage of your journey, marked by its true spirit of adventure. Depending on the sea ice conditions, we may boldly cross the 80th parallel north and immerse ourselves in the unspoiled wilderness of northeast Svalbard.

Perhaps our path will lead us to the immense Bråsvellbreen glacier, where cascading waterfalls plunge into icy abysses, or to Kvitøy, where we'll seek out polar bears roaming the frozen expanse. Heading southward, we may explore Freemansundet and Kapp Lee, or embark on thrilling small boat expeditions to Edgeøya or Barentsøya.

In the genuine spirit of expedition, our precise route will be shaped by the conditions we encounter each day. Embrace your inner explorer as you partake in exhilarating landings, hikes, and kayak journeys, always on the lookout for remarkable Arctic wildlife such as polar bears, walruses, guillemots, and gulls.

Your expedition cruise embarks on a southward journey toward Hornsund, a fjord renowned as one of Svalbard's most magnificent natural wonders. Along this idyllic waterway, the lush and vibrant vegetation gradually gives way to towering mountains, painting a breathtaking landscape. Step onto the deck to observe seals and whales frolicking in the surrounding waters, gaze upon the majestic Mount Hornsundtind, and marvel at glaciers calving into the sea.

Next, we venture to the snow-covered Bellsund, where the imposing cliffs serve as the abode for substantial colonies of auks, guillemots, and northern fulmars. Below these rugged cliffs, the Arctic foxes and Svalbard reindeer find their sanctuary. Keep a keen eye out for remnants of early mining settlements, and delve into the inspiring tale of Wanny Woldstad, a pioneering female trapper who left her mark on this remote land.

Our captivating Svalbard circumnavigation journey continues as we delve into the verdant fjord system of Isfjord, a place of vast glacier-carved valleys teeming with wildlife, lush vegetation, and echoes of human history.

Heading north, Alkhornet comes into view, a sanctuary for guillemots, kittiwakes, Svalbard reindeer, and Arctic foxes. Along its shores and in its bays, you'll encounter visible remnants of the area's whaling and hunting legacy. Further south, we'll pass by the former Isfjord Radio satellite communication station, now transformed into one of the world's most exquisitely located hotels.

Today's activities will be artfully curated to align with the ever-changing weather conditions in Isfjord.
